The RoMan Mfg transformer test facility at Grand Rapids, Michigan has now been equipped with an Invensys Eurotherm EPower based power control unit. This line-up allows high power tests with “load tap changing” SCR configurations running on the ultra compact RoMan water cooled transformers and busbar designs allowing customers to configure, simulate, measure and validate power control concepts before on-site installation. The test facility can also be used as a trainings facility in order to get plant personnel familiar with the advantages of improved high current applications and to proof new concepts of busbar-transformer designs as well as different ways of controlling power with Invensys Eurotherm SCR controllers.
