Many of us are placing a high focus on data integrity within our businesses. This is especially true for those involved in the manufacture of pharmaceutical and biotechnology products. Regulatory bodies remain focused on compliance related to data integrity. Our businesses can define a path to data integrity, but it is important that we consider risk mitigation activities. The first risk mitigation consideration should be the processes within our business. Second, a close review of our automation systems is needed. There are many automation providers that can assist us in mitigating data integrity risks through improved technology. Of course, as automation technology advances data security needs to be a major concern. Data quality is important, but how do we reduce the risk of our data being compromised. Finally, one of the most challenging aspects of insuring data integrity is the human factor. How can we work to reduce risk associated with human error.
