• Schneider Electric is extending the latest generation of power controllers designed to help optimize energy management and automation
• New EPack™ power controllers, offer easy integration and versatile features with the flexibility to buy what you need now and adapt later, plus the ability to significantly reduce energy bills across electrical heating applications
• EPack is a cost effective solution for the control of three phase loads across multiple industrial applications in Heat Treatment for Aerospace and Automotive, Life Sciences, Semiconductor and Food & Beverage
• EPack uses native communications for all major protocols which provides easy connection to PLCs, networked devices, and to IIoT technologies which can improve cost efficiencies
Schneider Electric™, the global specialist in energy management and automation, has added to the highly adaptable Eurotherm EPack power controller range combining a high level of functionality and configurability with straightforward set up and operation, designed for fast integration and optimum efficiency. This release covers a full range of loads, whatever the type, coupling or power.
Excellent adaptability and standardization make the EPack range the ideal solution for original equipment manufacturers system Integrators and end users.
Global certification to international standards allows EPack to be adapted to a wide spectrum of markets and applications with a robust design for high reliability in demanding environments.
The Technical Director at one multinational manufacturer said: “I chose the EPack controller because of its communication capability. I have been using Eurotherm controllers and power controllers for many years relying on their quality and precision control. I have nine products controlled by the PLC and the replacement of IO signals by communications has resulted in huge benefits, not only in terms of cost but also in the way that data is collected”.
When the Technical Director spoke to his senior Plant Manager he told him “the installation, integration and commissioning was easy and the level of support, as usual, was excellent,” adding “we are continually impressed at how Eurotherm take care of the retrofit schedule, minimizing the disruption which makes it a stress free process for all involved”. He ended by saying, “for all these reasons, I am more than satisfied”
Christopher Ashworth, VP & Managing Director, Eurotherm by Schneider-Electric said “EPack allows our OEMS and system integrators to adapt quickly to meet the needs of their customers; EPack has been carefully designed by Eurotherm engineers for fast easy panel installation, commissioning and integration into wider systems. To ensure our customers stand out from the competition EPack has the option of OEM branded fascias and customized configurations, and we protect this specialist knowledge and expertise with unique tamper resistant passcodes. These ensure our customer configuration strategies remain hidden and prevent access to these values.”
Ashworth adds ‘reducing energy costs and improving productivity is critical for our end customers. Choosing EPack could reduce a customer’s electricity bill by 5% based on typical savings seen in retrofit applications where fixed analogue thyristors were previously in use. EPack functionality also ensures precise repeatable control. This minimizes waste, improves quality and increases yield, maximizing day-to-day operational efficiency. Standardization across the range minimizes stock holding, further improving profitability.’
The combination of advanced configurable firing modes allows close matching to load requirements for maximum process efficiency. A wide range of alarms and indicators quickly identify controller-detected faults, for efficient monitoring of the process. This improves Overall Equipment Effectiveness and a compact design, ideal for smaller cabinets, saves space, lowering equipment costs. EPack is highly configurable and may be adapted for current and future needs using a software key to purchase additional functionality when needed.Learn more
