ACC Advanced Customizable Controller

The ACC (Advanced Customizable Controller) provides a truly flexible control solution for a wide range of machine automation applications by combining flexible modular signal conditioning I/O with a machine control oriented operating system.

Standard operating system functions include sensor and process calibration routines, input linearization, SMART auto-tuning PID control and process protection alarms. A comprehensive range of logic functions including timers, totalizers, counters and boolean operators are included in the standard instrument in addition to sequence, recipe, data logging and a library of sophisticated statistical functions. The ACC provides the functionality for a range of applications requiring continuous process control combined with logic sequencing. Examples include autoclaves, sterilizers, furnaces, ovens environmental and growth chambers and monitoring systems.

The functionality of the ACC may be easily customized using the BASIC language macros, enabling you to easily define and link the functions within the operating system.

A range of customizable display options provide a comprehensive view of the process and machine status. Display options range from alphanumeric text messaging to full graphic touch panels in various sizes.

A full range of communication options are available; ModBus RTU (Master & Slave), ASCII AT modem protocols, DeviceNet, CANopen, Ethernet TCP/IP.

DATA LOGGER

The ACC operating system has built-in data logging functions. Data logging may be triggered from the digital inputs, time, alarm or control functions. Up to 512 KB of on-board memory provides a powerful, multi-channel data capture and acquisition facility. The ACC may be configured to log in an endless loop, overwriting the oldest data first and utilizing the maximum amount of memory available. Similar to an aircraft Black Box flight recorder, process and status data can be downloaded for analysis after a problem or fault event occurs. The data logging function may be combined with the Ethernet TCP/IP communication interface option to provide data to a WEB server for a browsable Web Page of status and operating history information.

FLASH CARD MEMORY MODULE

Large capacity data logging is possible using the removable SD RAM Flash card memory module. Compatible with standard SD RAM flash memory cards from 4 to 128 MB, these are readable on standard MMC compatible memory card readers. Alternatively, logfile data may be downloaded from the SD RAM Flash card memory through the ACC communication port.

DIGITAL COMMUNICATION

The ACC supports two serial outputs up to 115.2Kbaud. The serial communication channels may be any combination of the options described below. Communication modes may be specified as slave, master or both.

RS232, RS485 Printer/ Terminal/ AT modem

This is an ASCII based printer or modem driver providing direct connection to fixed line, GPRS wireless modems, Epson compatible serial printers or third party remote serial display terminals. The print report output may be triggered from an alarm, time event or modem command and can be date or time stamped. The print mode can also be used to easily interface a computer data logging applications. The meter can be connected directly to a PC in hyper-terminal mode.

RS232, RS485 ASCII and ModBus Master

ModBus is widely used in industry and most SCADA and HMI software packages support it. This protocol is typically used when the ACC is networked with other Eurotherm or third party instruments.

RS232, RS422 HMI Mode

This mode provides high speed connection to the range of ACC touch panel HMI displays.

RS232, RS485 ASCII and ModBus Master

ModBus is widely used in industry and most SCADA and HMI software packages support it. This protocol is typically used when the ACC is networked with other Eurotherm or third party instruments.

DeviceNet

This is used primarily to communicate with some PLC hosts.

Ethernet TCP/IP

Ethernet TCP/IP allows direct connection to Ethernet networks and the Internet. This method has become a popular automation and control protocol. We supply Ethernet communication for either Modbus or ASCII interface options. Ethernet ASCII Wrap, the Ethernet output carrier board option, wraps the ASCII output into the Ethernet protocol, and provides a T-base 10/100 Ethernet output socket. This allows the Configuration Utility Program or the Macro Development Software to run over a standard Ethernet network enabling the ACC to be configured or macro programmed remotely via the Internet. The Ethernet ModBus Wrap converter accepts the ACC ModBus protocol and outputs ModBus/TCP through an Ethernet T-base 10 port. This method has become a standard for Ethernet on the factory floor. Many SCADA and HMI software packages connect directly to TCP/IP.

HMI OPTIONS

The range of HMI options includes 3 graphic monochrome LCD touch panels, and a 14 segment LED display.
