The world's most advanced 1/4 DIN controller combining unprecedented control performance with ease of set-up.
The 2704 is a 1/4 DIN plug-in high stability temperature and process controller designed to be used in demanding applications where extensive process information is required at the local control panel. It has a high
visibility graphical user interface with a bright 120 x 160 pixel dot matrix display of process information. It employs universal inputs (TC, RTD, DC) with INSTANT ACCURACY. Direct connection of Zirconia probes is also supported for carbon potential
control in atmospheric combustion applications. The advanced control algorithm and gain scheduling gives straight line control, even in difficult non-linear applications and automatic tuning simplifies commissioning.
A setpoint programming option allows storage of up to 50 programs (500 segments, 16 digital events, gauranteed dwell, holdback) and each can profile up to 3 setpoints. Using internal Toolkit blocks, including timers and
totalizers, customized user configurations and special machine control applications can be created. Configuration is by the front panel or via iTools. |

The graphical user interface is menu driven via the display and 7 front panel keys, providing extreme flexibility and ease of operation. PV/SP trending allows the user to view both current and historical information on
the process variable and programmed setpoint of each loop. Measurement range and timing may be varied.
The 2704 is available with Ethernet
(modbus/TCP), serial Modbus®RTU and DeviceNet
digital communications while the f version comes with Profibus®-DP comms. Version 5
or greater of the 2704 offers Modbus RTU master communications that enables
the 2704 to communicate with 8 slave Modbus RTU devices and a total of 38 parameters. This capability enables powerful lo-cost integrated extrusion control, autoclave or vacuum furnace solutions.
Powerful special process applications such as vacuum control, carbon potential, melt pressure, temperature/humidity, and others are available with local graphical display. Like the 2604, the 2704 has fixed and modular I/O
and can communicate via a proprietary two-wire interface with the 2000 I/O Expander to increase its digital I/O capability by 10 or 20 each additional inputs and outputs. |
