T6CFG - contains the LINtools files for the standard strategies
(i.e. those strategies which have always been included with the
standard T640; PLUS T640T1 & T640T2 which are for use with the low
level input board): .DBF (database file) .GRF (database graphics file) .DTF (database text file) |
| T6DOC - contains the document files for the strategies contained
in \T6CFG: .DOC (functional description) .ADJ (user adjustable parameters - ie partial database inspect parameters - and advice on adjustment where appropriate) |
| T6FFCFG - contains the LINtools files for the fixed function
strategies (now in both standard & fixed function T640s): .DBF (database file) .GRF (database graphics file) .DTF (database text file) |
| PACK - contains the packed .DBF files (.PK?). These are for the standard T640. The files 'T640C?.PK?' are in the T640's 'E:' device, the others are in the 'R:' device. |
| PACKFF - contains the packed .DBF files (.FF?). These are for the fixed function T640. The files are in the T640's 'R:' device. |
| T6CON - contains the LINtools files for a partial database for a single PID loop - this can be merged into a LINtools configuration to add a further control loop - instructions are contained within the files (view via LINtools). Also contains the LINtools files for a partial database of diagnostic blocks. For use with the standard T640 only. |
| LNG - contains language support files for the T640 front panel
messages. The T640 front panel messages default to English, if another language is required, load the appropriate '.LNG' file into the T640's E2ROM ('E:' device) and re-power the instrument. May be used with either the standard or fixed function T640. NOTE: this facility is NOT supported in issue 1/1 software. |
| TEXT - contains the utility 'text' which enables cutomized '.LNG'
files to be created. A sample language file is included (sample.txt
- the Swedish language file). Refer to table 11.1 in the T640
reference manual for the front panel character set. Note that the
lengths of the various text strings must not be altered from that in
the sample file. When you have created your source '.TXT' file,
generate the '.LNG' file as follows: text filename where 'filename.txt' is your source file. The output file will be 'filename.lng', which can be used as any other '.LNG' file. |

| Notes about standard strategies: ------------------------------------ Standard strategies are stored in a packed (compressed) file format. For the standard T640, the files are called '*.PKn' (where 'n' is the standard strategy number). For the fixed function T640, the files are called '*.FFn'. The T640 has two logical filing devices 'E:' (the T640's E2ROM - a read/write device), and 'R:' (the T640's ROM, a read only device). When the T640 searches for a '*.PKn' or '*.FFn' file, it always searches the 'E:' device, followed by the 'R:' device. This means that any standard strategy stored in ROM can be over-ridden by placing an alternative in the E2ROM. The standard T640, prior to version 3/1, had six standard strategies, called 'T640Cn'. The fixed function T640, prior to version 3/1, had four standard strategies called 'SINGLE', 'DUAL', 'DUAL_CS' and 'DUAL_RT'. It has been decided to encourage standardisation on the fixed function standard strategies, hence these are included on 'R:' as both '*.PKn' and '*.FFn' files. In order to maintain compatibility with previous versions of the standard T640, the original '*.PKn' files will be included on 'E:'. If the fixed function standard strategies are required to run on the standard T640 (or if space on 'E:' is at a premium and the standard strategies are not required) then the '*.PKn' files on 'E:' can be deleted. The standard T640 also includes a new standard strategy, T640T1 (for use with the low-level I/O board) as standard strategy 7. This is in 'R:'.. |
