Eurotherm Controls has announced the introduction of universal communications with the new TU Series of SCR power controllers. This SCR unit is available as a single, dual or quad SCR that is capable of zero crossing or phase angle control of heaters. The universal communications feature permits any of the following possibilities: EIA-485 Modbus® Comms, Eurotherm Comms, ProfiBus Comms, and standard 4-20mA analog inputs. The digital communications feature supplies complete control of setpoints, process parameters, configuration, diagnostic load monitoring, and advanced alarm strategy monitoring. The communications in the Eurotherm SCR is compatible with several SCADA software packages, MMI software packages, Allen-Bradley PLC systems, and other supervisory systems.
