Extrusion Master Control System specifically designed for small extruders

Eurotherm/Barber-Colman, a leading manufacturer of industrial instrumentation for process control and data acquisition products, will display the new Extrusion Master EM-3c at Chinaplas 2008 in Shanghai.  Similar to the popular EM-3, the new Eurotherm EM-3c has been especially developed to control small extrusion lines by utilizing the advanced features of the EM-3.  

The operator station includes a touch screen, an active matrix color LCD and provides easy one button switching between common languages.   The display offers full graphics capability for displaying trends, SPC charts and user-defined graphics.  The heat/cool temperature card is designed specifically for single-screw, twin-screw, co-extrusion or blow film applications.  Fully automatic adaptive tuning, in addition to conventional tuning, is provided.  The EM-3c automated heat start-up which requires no operator intervention boosts productivity and increases equipment life.  Internal Statistical Process Control (SPC) documents the quality of parts and proactively predicts process trends to avoid future problems.

Predefined screens and sequence logic have been used to simplify installation and setup.  Applications that match the predefined screens and logic do not require additional programming.  Even applications that are different from the predefined application will benefit.  PC-Compatible editing software allows installers to use the predefined application as the basis for similar applications. 

The EM-3c system can be specified on new extruders or as a retrofit for updating the controls on used or rebuilt extruders.
