Mini8 Firmware Upgrade Notes. 1. HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS Upgrade requires a 32bit Windows operating system (Windows NT, Windows 2000, 95 or 98). Your PC must have a spare RS-232 comms port (9 or 25 pin). Your Eurotherm Mini8 instrument is connected to the PC using a RJ11 config lead. Alternatively a config clip may be used. 2. OPERATION a. Connect your PC to the Mini8 using a suitable communications cable. b. Run upgrade appropriate for your instrument. Release notes for the upgrade you have obtained can be viewed from the initial dialogue. c. Proceed from initial dialogue and set the comms port you wish to use, press proceed. d. Get your instrument talking to the upgrade tool. To do this power up your instrument with the DIP switches all ON. If communications are established, the centre comms led will stop flashing and the proceed button in the dialogue box will become enabled. e. Press proceed, the instrument verification and download will now take place. If your instrument is incompatable with the upgrade you have selected the tool will notify you of this once the instrument has been interrogated. In this case the download will terminate to prevent instrument corruption. 5. TROUBLESHOOTING a.
