NORMAL OPERATOR MODE
CONFIGURATION MODE

ACCESS Button
The ACCESS button allows simple 1-button toggling between the normal operation mode of the instrument and the configuration mode. Note this takes about 20 button presses on the instrument using the front buttons. The button will toggle between the Operator and Configuration button images to outline the mode the instrument or simulation is currently in, as well as showing in the PANEL VIEW WINDOW, a SPANNER symbol at the top of any instruments in CONFIGURATION mode
This is very useful during commissioning when needed to continuously switch between Operation and Configuring.

SCAN BUTTON

The SCAN button allows iTools to scan all networks for connected instruments. This can be on Ethernet, Serial Modbus or via the Eurotherm Configurator station.

The "Enable Background Scan" popup window appears when the SCAN button is pressed. This allows the operator to select the starting and ending addresses on a serial network to test.

Note the scan will continue until the range is tested for available equipment. The scan will also scan any Ethernet TCP-IP addresses requested.

PARAMETER EXPLORER - Part of the VIEW TOOLBAR
Available for all Series 2000 & 3000 modules

The PARAMETER EXPLORER windows is used to configure the majority of parameters in the Eurotherm Series 2000 and 3000 Controllers. From the BROWSE/FIND window, select the function header to view, and the parameters for that function will appear in the PARAMETER EXPLORER window to the right.

Double clicking on a parameter value brings up a pop-out windows with the available options for the parameter chosen. The Parameter Explorer window on the right is for a standard Eurotherm universal process and temperature input. To configure the input type, double click on the first line (TYPE), and the type options window appears. Simply select the required type from the available list. To select the linearization of the type selected, double click on the second line (LINTYP). Again simply select the required value.

Soft wiring of parameters to connect to each other is performed just as simply. Double click on the required parameter "WIRED FROM" column and select the required parameter to link to the list.

DEVICE PANEL - Part of the VIEW TOOLBAR
Available for all Series 2000 & 3000 modules

The DEVICE PANEL shows a front panel view of the model being configured. For the 2200e, 2400, 3216 and 3500 models this will be an interactive X display.

For these ACTIVE displays, the buttons are live and able to control the instrument connected to the computer. For simulated instruments the buttons are useful to show the operator how the display will be shown for various setups.

Note this will appear in the position of the PARAMETER EXPLORER window.

PROGRAMMER - Part of the VIEW TOOLBAR

WATCH/RECIPE - Part of the VIEW TOOLBAR
Available for all Series 2000 & 3000 modules

The Watch/Recipe Editor window is divided into two main sections, on the left is the list of selected parameters with current values. On the right is up to 32 recipes and is used for two purposes:

1) To monitor a set of parameter values. The parameters can be from many different lists. This eliminates having to jump from one Browse/Find list to another to view the required parameters.

2) To create sets of parameter values (recipes) which can be selected and downloaded to the instrument.

Parameters can be easily dragged-and-dropped into the Editor from the BROWSE/FIND list or by pressing the add parameter button which opens the ADD PARAMETER list.

SNAPSHOTS of instantaneous data values can be made of all parameters in the Watch Editor, by simply pressing the button.
This generates a Recipe or DATA SET which can be Renamed, Saved and at any time downloaded to the instrument to test various parameter setting during commissioning and other testing.
If a particular data set needs to be generated for testing, simply create a blank Recipe . This blank Recipe can be renamed by double clicking on the column heading, and data can be added by double clicking on the particular data cell. This can then be downloaded to test these values in the attached instrument.

The OPCscope Datalogging program can be opened from this window. When it opens all the parameters being monitored in the WATCH window are automatically loaded into the datalogging window in OPCscope

Note this will appear in the position of the PARAMETER EXPLORER window.

With the addition that this can only be performed if the instrument is in the appropriate access level (security addition)
If a particular data set needs to be generated for testing, simply create a blank Recipe.
